Billy Horschel Skips BMW PGA Championship for FedEx Fall

Billy Horschel is absent from the BMW PGA Championship field for the first time since 2019, choosing instead to play the PGA Tour's new Biltmore Championship Asheville at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove in North Carolina.
Horschel, a two-time BMW PGA winner in 2021 and 2024, sits at No. 100 in the FedExCup standings without a top-10 finish this year. The Biltmore Championship is one of eight FedEx Fall events where players outside the top 100 can secure 2027 PGA Tour status or risk losing their card altogether.

Three players ranked just ahead of Horschel in the standings, Kohles, Bezuidenhout and Finau, are also in the Asheville field this week, along with several golfers just outside the top 100 chasing the same cutoff, including No. 104 Kris Ventura and No. 105 A.J. Ewart.
The 132-player field is competing in the tournament's inaugural staging, one of eight fall events that will decide who keeps a fully exempt PGA Tour card heading into 2027.
