A car crashed into the pro shop at Brae Burn Country Club in West Newton, Massachusetts, on Sept. 21, injuring three people. Local police said the driver and two pro shop employees were taken to a hospital with minor injuries after the vehicle struck the building on Fuller Street.
The impact damaged one of the shop's walls, which crews later boarded up. The city engineer responded to the scene to assess the building. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash, but police said there is no indication of criminal activity and do not believe alcohol was a factor.
What is Brae Burn's golf history?
Brae Burn carries deep ties to architect Donald Ross, who redesigned the 18-hole course in 1912 and again in 1928. Ross's brother, Alec, served as the club's head professional during the period he won the U.S. Open at Philadelphia Cricket Club. The course currently sits tied for 185th on Golfweek's Best Classic 200 list.
