Eugenio Chacarra Wins DP World India, Leads Race to Dubai

Eugenio Chacarra won the DP World India Championship by two strokes, finishing at 21 under par to outlast a closely watched pairing of Rory McIlroy and Patrick Reed and seize the lead in the DP World Tour's Race to Dubai standings.

What happened to McIlroy and Reed?

The pre-tournament storyline centered on McIlroy and Reed, but neither player contended, finishing well behind Chacarra's winning total. The result complicates McIlroy's bid to pass Colin Montgomerie's record of eight Race to Dubai titles, since Chacarra has now moved into the top spot in the season-long rankings.

What's next on the Race to Dubai calendar?

The tour moves to the Abu Dhabi Championship, set for Nov. 5-8, where the top 70 players in the Race to Dubai standings will compete. Only the top 50 players after that event advance to the season finale, the DP World Tour Championship at the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, scheduled for Nov. 12-15.
