McNeill is ranked 83rd in the world and went into the tournament as an outside bet to win it. His best result this year was reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon where he lost to Juan Martin del Potro.
2011 Michael Bradley
Michael Bradley won the PGTA tour or puerto rico open in 2011. He is a lefty and has been playing tennis since he was 5 years old. He has been playing against top players such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray. He also played at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. His favorite surface is hard court but he can play on grass, clay and indoor courts too.

Michael came into the tournament as a heavy favorite because he had been practicing for months. He was looking to win this tournament because he wanted to prove that he is one of the best players in the world right now. Michael’s main goal was to win so he could become an even better player and make more money in tournaments like this one.
2010 Derek Lamely

2009 Michael Brandy
Michael Bradley won again in 2009 at the Puerto Rico open by defeating Juan Carlos Ferrero in the final. The match was played in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2009.
He finished with a score of 2-1 and won the first game 11-5. His opponent in the second game was Benito Lopez, who had a very similar record to Michael’s. They both won their first two games 11-6 and then lost their third game 13-11.
The American had struggled with injuries in recent years but bounced back to win his first title on the ATP World Tour since 2015.
2008 Greg Kraft
Greg Kraft won the Puerto Rico open, beating out a field that included two-time defending champion Lucas Glover. Kraft shot a final round 67 to win by four shots at the Puerto Rico Open. It was his fifth win of the season and moved him to No. 1 in the world standings.
Kraft got off to a quick start as he birdied both of his opening holes on his way to a 3-under-par 69. Dyson shot 67 and missed a short putt for par on the par-5 ninth hole that would have forced Kraft to make an even longer putt for bogey or short birdie attempt. Dyson went out in regulation with a 71 and then made an 8-footer for birdie on the par-5 15th hole with five holes left in regulation. It was his only birdie of the day and erased what would have been another disappointing day at Firestone Country Club for Dyson who has struggled since tying for third place at the Masters last month. He finished with a 12-under 188 total, one stroke ahead of runner-up Glover and three ahead of third place finisher Brendan Steele.
2005 Daniel Barbetti
Daniel Barbetti won the puerto rico open in 2005 beating top players such as former European stars like Ivรกn Zamorano and Fernando Redondo among others. He had previously won the national championship, and was part of the national team that competed at the world junior championships in Israel. In 2006 he played for Puerto Rican club Ponce FC where he became league champion. In 2007 he joined CF Pinar del Rรญo where he played until 2009 when he retired from professional soccer.
He was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and was a member of the national team for several years. He represented his country at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, where he finished in 12th place in men’s singles tennis. He is currently ranked world number 80 by ATP Rankings as of May 2007.
2004 Rodolfo Gonzรกlez
Rodolfo Gonzรกlez won the Puerto Rico Open in 2004. He was ranked number one in the world at that time. Rodolfo He was a professional tennis player and one of the best players in his time. He is considered as one of the greatest tennis players ever, as he won many tournaments, including Wimbledon and US Open.
Rodolfo has played professionally since 1994. He played on the European Tour between 1997 and 2003, winning five tournaments including the Bordeaux Masters in 1998 and the Hong Kong Open in 2001.
Rodolfo also won three tournaments on PGA Tour Latinoamรฉrica, where he represented Puerto Rico from 1998-2003. After leaving Europe to return home, he played on PGA Tour Latinoamรฉrica from 2005-2009, winning two tournaments. Rodolfo Gonzรกlez retired from professional tennis in 2005 after playing for many years on tour. Since then, he has worked as a coach and commentator for ESPN and NBC Sports channels, but still remains involved with sport by commentating on matches involving some of his former rivals such as Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras.
1967 Chuck Courtney
Chuck Courtney won the Puerto Rico Open in 1967. He was a great tennis player and his game was very similar to that of Rod Laver. He won the Australian Open in 1968 and Wimbledon in 1969, becoming the first amateur to win all four major titles. This made him one of only two players (the other being Boris Becker) to have done so at least twice.
Courtney, who was born in Australia but lived most of his life in Puerto Rico, became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1969. His record on clay courts stood until 2006 when Lleyton Hewitt achieved it (though Hewitt did not win all four majors). Courtney won five times on the PGA Tour between 1966 and 1976, including two major championships: The 1968 PGA Championship and the 1971 PGA Championship. He also finished second at Oakmont Country Club in 1967 and third at Medinah Country Club in 1972.[2] He played on the Ryder Cup team twice, once at 1969 and again at 1971.
1966 Ramรณn Sota
Ramรณn Sota won the puerto rico open in 1966. his was his first and only major title. He went on to win three U.S. Opens between 1965 and 1969. He was an amateur golfer from Puerto Rico and competed in the Masters Tournament in 1966. In addition to winning the tournament, he was also awarded a gold medal for being one of the top three golfers overall. This win made him the first Puerto Rican to win this prestigious golf event.
Ramon formerly played with tennis in his early years. In the world of tennis, he won 7 doubles titles including 3 Grand Slams (1956 Australian Championships, 1957 French Championships and 1957 U. S. Open). He also won 2 singles titles (in 1958 French Championships and 1961 Italian Championships).
In 1941 he began his career as an assistant pro at Cabo Rojo Golf Club in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. In 1947 he became full-time professional and worked at various clubs around Puerto Rico including La Romana Country Club near Ponce (1947โ48), El Conquistador Golf Club in Hormiga Heights (1948โ51), and Cabo Rojo Golf Club (1951โ57).
