David Puig has ruled himself out of LIV Golf's planned 2.0 relaunch, becoming the latest player to turn down the rebooted league in favor of a fuller schedule on the DP World Tour next season.

The 24-year-old Spaniard made his position clear after the first round of the Open de España. "I don't see myself playing in the LIV 2.0," Puig said. He added that holding a full DP World Tour card had factored into the decision.

Puig's move follows close friend and compatriot Jon Rahm, who has also declined to join LIV 2.0, and Adrian Meronk, who ruled out signing days earlier. Richard Bland is so far the only player to publicly commit to the relaunched league, while others, including Sergio Garcia, Cameron Smith and Joaquin Niemann, have stayed non-committal.

What's at stake for LIV Golf?

The departures add pressure on LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil, who has set an Oct. 25 deadline to lock in enough players to close a financing agreement with investors BC Partners. Bryson DeChambeau, the league's most prominent remaining face, has not publicly addressed his plans in recent weeks.

Puig has split this season between LIV Golf and the DP World Tour, making the Open de España his 12th DP World Tour start of the year while also competing a full LIV campaign. He broke through for his maiden DP World Tour title at the Australian PGA Championship in November 2025. Garcia, who had his own LIV contract terminated to become a free agent, has already said he intends to play the DP World Tour next season as he pursues a spot on Luke Donald's European Ryder Cup team.
