Edel Discounts SMS Iron and Wedge Lineup by 30% This Weekend

Edel Golf is discounting its SMS iron and wedge lineup by 30 percent off regular retail this weekend only, with the sale running through Fairway Jockey, the brand's retail partner.

What makes the SMS system different?

SMS stands for Swing Match Weighting. Each iron carries three moveable weights behind the clubface that can be rearranged to suit an individual golfer's swing. Edel says positioning the heaviest weight correctly promotes a more efficient impact position and added clubface control, which the company says helps cut down on mis-hits without requiring any swing changes.

How do the SMS and SMS Pro irons differ?

The lineup splits into two iron models. The SMS is built as a players-distance iron with forged hollow-body construction and a plasma-welded maraging steel face cup. The SMS Pro targets better players, using Edel's one-piece precision grain forging process, which the company says is built around sound and feel as much as distance.

The discount also extends to a companion SMS utility iron and the SMS wedges, giving golfers who buy into the adjustable-weight system a way to carry it through a full set rather than just the irons.
