Graphite Design has introduced the Tour AD FI, short for "Flight Intelligence," a wood shaft aimed at golfers with a smooth, flowing swing tempo.
What are the Tour AD-FI's specs?
| Spec | Tour AD-FI |
|---|---|
| Name meaning | Flight Intelligence |
| Colorway | Mint green and black |
| Launch | Mid |
| Spin | Low to low-mid |
| Bend profile | Firm+ butt and center sections, stiff tip |
| Key materials | 50-ton aerospace-grade carbon fiber; Torayca M40X and T1100G pre-preg materials |
| Design tech | Material Stiffness Integration (MSI); Tornado Tip Tech with NANOALLOY |
Graphite Design says the combination of a softer butt and center section with a stiffer tip is meant to let a golfer with a fluid transition load the shaft naturally, while the tip section still resists twisting through impact.
Who does it suit?
Reviewers have found the shaft best suited to golfers with a smooth, unhurried tempo rather than an aggressive, fast transition, comparing the profile favorably to how LPGA player Nelly Korda's swing loads a shaft. Golfers with that swing type are often steered toward "red" shaft profiles from rival brands that trade off tip stability for feel; the Tour AD-FI is positioned as an alternative that keeps a firmer tip.
Graphite Design has not disclosed pricing or a release date for the Tour AD-FI.
