Shipley reached the 2024 Masters on the strength of his runner-up finish at the previous year's U.S. Amateur, then won over galleries by taking a final-round pairing with Tiger Woods in stride en route to low amateur honors. Fellow Pittsburgh Central Catholic graduate Carter Pitcairn carried his bag that week. For his second major of the year, the U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, Shipley turned to Ohio State assistant coach Jimmy Beck and again finished as low amateur before turning professional.

Dyne, who had previously caddied for Kevin Dougherty, has been with Shipley for most of his time as a pro, including both of his Korn Ferry Tour victories.
