Niemann Still Undecided on Joining LIV Golf 2.0 in 2027

Joaquin Niemann has not committed to playing LIV Golf's planned 2027 relaunch, the league's winningest player said Sunday after finishing T-21 at the BMW PGA Championship.

What did Niemann say about LIV 2.0?

Asked by Golf Digest whether he had pledged to play what the league is calling LIV 2.0, a 2027 format set to feature 10 events with smaller purses and larger fields, Niemann said, "No, nothing yet." The 27-year-old Chilean, who has nine LIV wins, said he was not part of LIV's most recent call with CEO Scott O'Neil because it fell during his second round at Wentworth. He said he has skipped the league's earlier calls too, which have run nearly every Friday, because he has been focused on his own game.

Niemann said he has little visibility into where the league stands, adding that he has no real sense of what is coming next.

Why is LIV's future in question?

The league's direction has come under scrutiny since bankruptcy filings surfaced earlier this month, prompting reporters to press multiple players on their plans. Niemann has been among the more candid, saying he remains open to involvement in LIV's next chapter without confirming it. Separately, Bryson DeChambeau posted Sunday that he would make an announcement Monday at 1 p.m. ET, teasing that he was "coming home" without specifying whether it concerned his playing future.
