Walker Cup Hero Josh Hill Turns Pro, Heads to Dunhill Links

Josh Hill, the Englishman who holed the clinching putt for Great Britain & Ireland at last month's Walker Cup, has turned professional. He announced the move on Instagram and will make his pro debut next week at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the DP World Tour.

What did Hill accomplish at the Walker Cup?

At Lahinch, Hill's putt on the 18th hole sealed the biggest comeback in Walker Cup history for GB&I. He had also gotten up-and-down from a greenside bunker on the final hole to keep his match alive, a sequence that set up the winning putt.

Hill said in his announcement that a "new chapter begins" at the Home of Golf, calling it a "lifelong dream" turning into reality.

What is Hill's background?

Hill grew up in Dubai and, at age 15, won the 2019 Al Ain Open on the MENA Tour, becoming the youngest player to win a professional event awarding Official World Golf Ranking points. He also represented GB&I in the Jacques Leglise Trophy and played four years of college golf at the University of Tennessee, finishing his career there with seven top-ten and 18 top-25 finishes.
