Michael Block Leads Ally Challenge by Two After Round 2 65

Michael Block shot a bogey-free 7-under 65 on Saturday to take a two-shot lead at the PGA Tour Champions Ally Challenge at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc, Michigan. It is his fifth PGA Tour Champions start of the season, all on sponsor exemptions.

Block opened his second round with an eagle on the par-5 first hole, then added birdies on Nos. 5, 7, 9, 13 and 16 before closing with two pars. Combined with Friday's 66, he sits at 13 under through 36 holes with two eagles and 10 birdies on his card. He leads Steven Alker, who won last week's PGA Tour Champions event in a playoff, by two shots.

The Ally Challenge is Block's third tournament in three weeks, and his results this season -- a tie for ninth at the Dick's Open, a tie for 31st at the U.S. Senior Open, a tie for 41st at the Boeing Classic and a tie for fifth at the Rogers Charity Classic -- suggest he is settling into the senior circuit. He heads into the final round looking for his first PGA Tour Champions title.
