Ogilvy Names Conners, Taylor, Four Others to Presidents Cup

International captain Geoff Ogilvy completed his 2026 Presidents Cup roster on Tuesday, adding Corey Conners, Nico Echavarria, Sungjae Im, Ryo Hisatsune, Nick Taylor and Christiaan Bezuidenhout as his six captain's picks. The selections join automatic qualifiers Si Woo Kim, Min Woo Lee, Tom Kim, Adam Scott, Hideki Matsuyama and Ryan Fox for the matches at Medinah Country Club.

Who did Ogilvy pick for the International team?

Ogilvy's first four picks tracked the points list, adding Conners (seventh), Echavarria (eighth), Im (ninth) and Hisatsune (10th). Conners will make his third Presidents Cup start after going winless in four matches in 2022 and 2-3 in his next appearance. Echavarria, an International team debut, won the Cognizant Classic this season for his third Tour title and recorded three top-10s and five top-25s. Hisatsune, the youngest player on the International side, made 21 consecutive cuts in 2026, including a tie for second at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Im returns after starting the season on the injured list. He and Hideki Matsuyama beat Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele 7 and 6 in foursomes two years ago, tying the competition's record for the shortest match in its 30-year history.

Why are Taylor and Bezuidenhout selections notable?

Ogilvy's final two picks required more thought. Taylor, a five-time PGA Tour winner who beat Phil Mickelson at Pebble Beach and Tommy Fleetwood in a playoff at his national open, had never made an International team despite finishing 13th in points. Bezuidenhout, at 96th in the World Golf Ranking, was chosen from outside the top 15 in the standings on the strength of a winning record in his lone prior Presidents Cup appearance.

Ogilvy reached past the points list twice, betting on a five-time Tour winner who had never made a team and a South African ranked outside the world's top 90.

Snedeker's U.S. picks followed a similar mix of form and precedent, pairing Gotterup, Schauffele, Thomas, Bridgeman and Cantlay with rookie Jackson Koivun, who turned pro in June and won the 3M Open in his third start. Both 12-man rosters are now set for Medinah.
