Presidents Cup Draws Roughly 150,000 Fans Across Medinah Week

Medinah Country Club has drawn a healthy crowd for the 2026 Presidents Cup, even as the Internationals carry a surprise lead into Sunday singles. Official figures haven't been released, but organizers were widely reported to be expecting around 150,000 fans across four competition days and two practice days, or about 35,000 on each day of play.

How does that compare to other team events?

The number is in line with recent editions of the Presidents Cup. Golf Canada estimated roughly 30,000 fans a day at the 2024 matches at Royal Montreal, while about 200,000 attended the 2022 event at Quail Hollow. The Presidents Cup trails its higher-profile cousin: an estimated 225,000 to 250,000 fans attended the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black across the week, around 50,000 a day. The Solheim Cup, held earlier this month at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands, reportedly drew about 80,000 fans.

Why did the atmosphere feel quiet to some players?

The crowd size hasn't stopped some competitors from describing a subdued mood at Medinah, where talking points this week have included a controversial out-of-bounds line on the first three holes and the Internationals' 5-0 sweep of Friday's foursomes.

"It was kind of dead out there," Wyndham Clark said of the atmosphere after the tournament's first day.

Clark added that he didn't feel the crowd's energy as much as usual, even with attendance tracking close to recent editions of the event.
