Snedeker Warns Europe: U.S. 'Will Be a Problem' in 2027

Brandt Snedeker used his post-match interview after the U.S. Presidents Cup win at Medinah to send a message to Team Europe, telling PGA Tour Radio that the American team will be trouble at next year's Ryder Cup in Ireland.

What did Snedeker say about the Ryder Cup?

The U.S. had just completed a comeback to beat the Internationals when Snedeker was asked what the victory meant to him. He turned the answer toward 2027, saying the win proved the American team trusts each other and predicting that group will carry that chemistry to Adare Manor. “This team is going to be a problem in Ireland,” Snedeker said.

This team is going to be a problem in Ireland.

Snedeker did not specify what kind of problem the U.S. would pose, and the record works against the boast. The Americans have lost the last two Ryder Cups and have not won the event on foreign soil since 1991.

Has bulletin-board material backfired before?

The comments echo a similar moment from 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley, who delivered a profanity-laced team room speech after the 2024 Presidents Cup in Montreal, a moment later shown in the Netflix series “Full Swing.” That U.S. team fell behind in the opening two days at Bethpage and lost the Ryder Cup, 15-13.

Who captains the U.S. at the 2027 Ryder Cup?

Jim Furyk, set to lead the U.S. team in Ireland, struck a more measured tone when asked what he took from Medinah. He pointed to studying lineups and pairings and staying open to input from players who were in a U.S. team room for the first time this year.
