Tommy Morrison's Korn Ferry Tour Rookie Season Includes a 29-Under Win

Tommy Morrison has turned his first six Korn Ferry Tour starts into one of the fastest rookie breakouts on the circuit this year. The 6-foot-9 pro finished a college career at the University of Texas that included a top-six result at PGA Tour University.

What has Morrison done in his rookie season?

Morrison tied for 10th at the OccuNet Classic and tied for fifth at the Memorial Health Championship before finishing runner-up at his third start, The Blue Championship. In July, he won the Evans Scholars Invitational at 29 under par for the week, a tournament scoring record. The following week he tied for second at the Utah Championship after losing in a playoff.

“You'd be crazy if you said you'd expect that,” Morrison said of his start on Golf's Subpar podcast.

Six starts into his pro career, Morrison already owns a scoring record and two runner-up finishes.

What did Morrison accomplish as an amateur?

In 2025, Morrison became the first American to win the European Amateur Championship, which earned him an exemption into the Open Championship, where he made the cut. He also played for the winning United States team at the 2025 Walker Cup at Cypress Point.

Morrison hired veteran caddie Scott McGuinness less than two weeks before his Korn Ferry Tour debut in Amarillo. Six events later, the pairing remains intact through his run of top finishes.
