132-Player U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Field Spans Ages 25 to 63

The 39th U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur began Saturday at Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, New Jersey, with a 132-player field that ranges in age from 25 to 63. The USGA championship runs through Sept. 3, 2026.

Who is eligible for the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur?

Competitors must be at least 25 years old by the start of the championship and hold a USGA Handicap Index no higher than 9.4, according to the USGA. Outside of competition, the field works as sales representatives, data analysts, chemical engineers, college head coaches, dermatologic surgeons, aviation attorneys and graphic designers; one competitor is a pregnant stay-at-home mom.

Who are the oldest and youngest players in the field?

Nine competitors are 25 years old, the minimum age to qualify. Jensen Jalufka will be the youngest player in the championship, turning 25 the day before it began.

The U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur is one of 15 national championships conducted annually by the USGA.
