About The Club at Starr Pass

Twenty-seven holes in the Tucson Mountains, played as three nines in any combination. Bob Cupp and Craig Stadler laid out the original eighteen — now Coyote and Rattler — in 1986, and Arnold Palmer's team added the Roadrunner nine two decades later. It hosted the Tucson Open from 1987 to 1996, and Phil Mickelson won there in January 1991 while still an amateur at Arizona State. The sixth on the Coyote runs along the stagecoach trail Richard Starr cut through the mountains in the 1880s, which is where the name comes from. Troon has managed the club since 2023.
