Jack Nicklaus built 27 holes here in 2009, his first Tucson design in 25 years, laid out as three nines — Saguaro, Tortolita and Wild Burro — played in three 18-hole combinations. The club hosted the WGC Accenture Match Play from 2009 to 2014, and at 7,849 yards it was the longest venue in PGA Tour history. Elevations run from 2,300 to 3,200 feet across the Tortolita foothills. The greens drew heavy criticism from players at the 2009 Match Play and were later reworked; they remain severe, with several distinct tiers on most complexes.
