Bill Murray Returns for 11th Alfred Dunhill Links Appearance

Bill Murray will play in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship for the 11th time when the event returns to the Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns from Oct. 1-4.

Actress Kathryn Newton, a former high school golfer who withdrew from qualifying for the 2012 US Women's Open after landing her first film role, is also entered. Musicians Tom Chaplin, Dave Farrell, Ronan Keating and Huey Lewis, who played in the event's first edition in 2001, tee it up alongside rowing champion Sir Steve Redgrave, surfer Kelly Slater, cricketer Kevin Pietersen, footballer Ruud Gullit and jockey Sir Tony McCoy. Redgrave has played in all 25 editions of the event.

Who is playing in the professional field?

Defending champion Bob MacIntyre leads a field that includes Tyrrell Hatton, chasing a fourth Dunhill title, and Padraig Harrington, who has also played every year since 2001. Matt Fitzpatrick, the 2023 champion, is entered alongside brother Alex, as are 2019 team champion Tommy Fleetwood and Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald. Lee Westwood, the 2003 winner, returns for the first time since 2019, and major champions Brooks Koepka, Bubba Watson and Cam Smith are also entered.

The tournament pairs pros with amateurs in a team competition alongside a standalone individual event. Admission is free for spectators across the first three days.
