Bryson DeChambeau's LIV Golf Contract Expires, Future Unclear

Bryson DeChambeau's LIV Golf contract has expired following the league's Indianapolis season finale, leaving the two-time major champion without a deal as LIV's long-term future stays uncertain.

What changed in the latest world ranking?

The Official World Golf Ranking update released this week brought little movement at the top, with Scottie Scheffler holding No. 1 through a week dominated by the Presidents Cup at Medinah. DeChambeau climbed one place, from No. 38 to No. 37, swapping spots with J.T. Poston. It is a minor shift, but it comes as DeChambeau heads into the offseason without a LIV contract for the first time since he joined the league.

What has DeChambeau said about his LIV future?

DeChambeau has not detailed his plans. On social media, he shared a collection of photos from his time on the circuit, writing only, "It was a good run." Other LIV players have reflected at greater length on the league's uncertain direction; Ian Poulter posted a lengthy message recounting his own experience with the circuit. LIV CEO Scott O'Neil has been working to secure new investors and reshape the league into what has been described as "LIV 2.0" after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund pulled its backing earlier this year.

DeChambeau's ranking has fluctuated well outside the top 10 for most of 2026. His career-best OWGR position is No. 4, reached on May 10, 2021, and he climbed as high as No. 10 last year after a tied-for-second finish at the PGA Championship. The ranking system awards points from eligible tours over a rolling two-year period, with points held at full value for 13 weeks before being reduced in stages.
