Cowboys Golf Club Completes $12 Million Renovation in Texas

Cowboys Golf Club, the only NFL-themed course in the world, has completed a $12 million renovation of its Grapevine, Texas, layout, the most extensive upgrade since Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones opened the public course in 2001.

What changed in the Cowboys Golf Club renovation?

Architect Beau Welling refined the playing corridors, repositioned bunkers and rebuilt every tee and green on the course. The club's signature giant blue star, long a landmark in the middle of the 4th fairway, was relocated to a hillside behind the par-3 3rd green, overlooking the hole and its pond. Arcis Golf, which has owned and operated the club since 2015 and runs nearly 90 courses across the U.S., oversaw the project.

What else is new at the club?

The renovation added the Huddle, an 18-hole putting course laid out on Cowboys-blue synthetic turf that passes an Airstream trailer serving frozen margaritas, barbacoa tacos and other Texas-style food. The driving range was also rebuilt, adding 14 Toptracer bays overlooking a 60-yard turf football field sourced from AT&T Stadium, complete with yard lines, hash marks and a regulation goalpost set 175 yards from the tee. Inside, the clubhouse retains its collection of Cowboys memorabilia, including the franchise's five Super Bowl trophies and former coach Tom Landry's fedora.

The club, open to the public, has drawn current and former Cowboys players since it opened, including placekicker Brandon Aubrey, who has been known to practice long-range field goal attempts on the driving range.
