Frederik Kjettrup won the English Trophy by one shot over fellow Dane Ronan Kleu on Sunday, his first professional title since he was relegated from LIV Golf in 2025.
How did Kjettrup close out the win?
The 26-year-old carded a final round of 67 at The Caversham to claim his maiden HotelPlanner Tour title. He had missed the cut in eight of his nine previous starts on the tour this season, though a runner-up finish at Blot Play9 in June hinted a win was close.
The title is Kjettrup's fourth as a professional. He won three times on PGA Tour Americas in a 10-week span in 2024, form that earned him a Korn Ferry Tour card he gave up to sign with Martin Kaymer's Cleeks GC for the 2025 LIV Golf season. He struggled on LIV, posting a best finish of T30 in Mexico City, scored no points in the season-long individual championship, and was relegated from the league.
What does the win mean for his DP World Tour hopes?
Kjettrup began the week 72nd in the Race to Mallorca standings on 220 points, all from his June runner-up finish. The win at The Caversham added 320 points, moving him to 15th with 540. Players ranked 15th or better after the season-ending Rolex Grand Final earn a DP World Tour card for 2027.
| Race to Mallorca rank | Points | |
|---|---|---|
| Before English Trophy | 72nd | 220 |
| After English Trophy | 15th | 540 |
Kjettrup now heads toward the Rolex Grand Final needing to hold his position inside the top 15 to secure his DP World Tour card for next season.
