Jacob Bridgeman Hits Tee Shot Into Pizza Stand at East Lake

Jacob Bridgeman's tee shot on the par-5 18th hole at East Lake Golf Club sailed off line during Friday's second round of the Tour Championship and came to rest on the floor of a pizza vendor's stand near the fairway. The moment played out on the tournament broadcast, with a camera slowly revealing exactly where the ball had landed inside the stand.

Bridgeman had carded five birdies on the day before a bogey at the 17th. After officials worked out where he could take relief from the concession stand, he hit his third shot into a greenside bunker and missed the par putt, closing his round with back-to-back bogeys on the final two holes.

He finished the day at 5 under and tied for 16th heading into the weekend of the FedEx Cup finale. Speaking with on-course reporter Katt Williams on PGA Tour Live afterward, Bridgeman pointed to shifting wind late in the round. "I was 5 under through 16 and it could've been 7 or 8," he said, reflecting on a round that had been mostly clean before the finish.

Bridgeman will look to build back momentum in Saturday's third round at East Lake as the FedEx Cup finale field plays toward the weekend.
