Reports that Jon Rahm has agreed a 2027 return to the PGA Tour are running ahead of anything on the record. Rahm has not confirmed such a deal publicly, and there is no PGA Tour announcement of one. Whether he leaves LIV Golf and whether he has terms with the PGA Tour are two separate questions, and only the first is genuinely in dispute.

What has Rahm actually agreed to?

An arrangement with the DP World Tour, confirmed on 5 May 2026. It covered his outstanding fines, granted conditional releases to play LIV events, and committed him to a set number of DP World Tour appearances. The effect was to preserve his membership and, with it, his Ryder Cup eligibility. That is the only tour agreement verified for Rahm this year.

Is there a route back to the PGA Tour for 2027?

Not an open one. The Returning Member Program was a one-time reinstatement policy whose application window ran from 12 January to 2 February 2026, and the Tour stated explicitly that players could not use it to signal an intention to return for 2027 or later. Rahm declined it while the window was open.

That was Rahm on 14 January. Any 2027 reinstatement would therefore require a new policy framework that does not currently exist, or a qualification pathway. One theoretical route does exist: the top 10 eligible players on the season-ending DP World Tour Race to Dubai ranking earn PGA Tour cards for the following year. There is no evidence Rahm has secured status that way.
