Nordqvist names three rookies among Europe's Solheim Cup picks

Team Europe's 2026 Solheim Cup roster is set, and captain Anna Nordqvist has leaned young: three of her four captain's picks are first-time Solheim Cup players, giving the team four rookies in total.

Who are Team Europe's Solheim Cup rookies?

Nordqvist's picks include England's Mimi Rhodes, Spain's Julia Lopez Ramirez and France's Nastasia Nadaud, all set to make their Solheim Cup debuts. Automatic qualifier Lottie Woad, also of England, is the team's fourth rookie. Rhodes won three times on the Ladies European Tour last year before moving to the LPGA Tour, and Nadaud picked up her first LET title this season while also playing a rookie LPGA campaign.

Nordqvist's fourth pick was experience rather than upside: Leona Maguire, a veteran of Europe's past match-play campaigns. "She is a player you want on your team especially in matchplay," Nordqvist said of the Irishwoman. Charley Hull and Celine Boutier round out the roster's established core.

The 20th Solheim Cup runs Sept. 11-13 at Bernardus Golf near Amsterdam. The United States leads the all-time series 11-7-1.
