What golfers love
Golfers tell us that Far Oaks Golf Course in the St. Louis metro area is a great course with a wonderful design. The picturesque scenery and the brand new white sand in the bunkers are highly praised. Golfers appreciate the continuous improvements made to the course, such as the removal of trees and brush in front of the 12th tee, which has opened up the hole and enhanced the playing experience. The course is also commended for having well-maintained greens. Despite some minor issues like weeds in the fairway and areas of bad turf in certain fairways, golfers still find the course enjoyable. The course offers good value for the money, especially during the off-season, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. While some golfers mention slow pace of play on certain occasions, the overall consensus is that Far Oaks Golf Course is a top-tier course with a challenging layout and one of the nicer bunkers in the St. Louis area.
Good to know
Golfers tell us that the Far Oaks Golf Course has areas that could use improvement. Some fairways, such as 3, 4, 5, and 15, have bad areas, and there are also weeds present in fairway 1. The 12th tee has little grass and a former bunker to the right of 18 green is now just dirt. Furthermore, golfers have mentioned some issues with pace of play on weekends, and during peak season, the excessive foliage in front of tees and greens on certain holes can make the experience less memorable. The course can also improve by removing vegetation/trees that block the beauty of holes from the tee, such as 6, 12, 15, and 17.
