Cameron Young Swaps Titleist Fairway Wood for TaylorMade at Medinah

Cameron Young, who won The Players Championship and the Cadillac Championship this season, has made an equipment change at the Presidents Cup, putting a TaylorMade fairway wood in his bag after using a full Titleist setup throughout 2026.

What did Cameron Young change?

Young had been playing a mix of the Titleist GT1 fairway wood and Titleist mini drivers this season. At Medinah, he appeared with a TaylorMade Qi4D 3-wood fitted with a Mitsubishi Tensei White 1K Pro shaft, replacing the Mitsubishi Diamana PD 80 TX shaft he used in the GT1.

The reason for the switch has not been disclosed. TaylorMade fairway woods have been among the most-played on the PGA Tour; the TaylorMade Qi10 posted a 50% win rate in 2025, with the brand tied to six straight major victories on the men's tours.

How has Young fared at the Presidents Cup?

Young has lost both of his matches so far at Medinah. Paired with Xander Schauffele in Thursday four-balls, the pair fell 3&1 to Hideki Matsuyama and Ryo Hisatsune. On Friday, paired with Justin Thomas in foursomes, Young lost 3&2 to Adam Scott and Christiaan Bezuidenhout as the U.S. was swept 5-0, falling behind 7-3 heading into the weekend.
