Cleveland Expands RTZ Wedge Line With Four RTZ2 Grinds

Cleveland has expanded its RTZ wedge line with the RTZ2, adding four sole grinds designed around how different players enter the turf, from tight lies to soft, lush fairways.

What grinds does the RTZ2 come in?

The lineup includes a standard grind with subtle heel-and-toe relief for versatility across lies and bunkers, a Low grind with a narrow, shaved-down sole for firm turf and clean contact, a Full grind with a wide, uninterrupted sole aimed at players who take a divot or play from soft grass, and an Adapt grind with camber and roll built for high-toe, open-face shots from awkward lies. The wedges were designed with longtime Cleveland collaborator Roger Cleveland.

Testers who played the RTZ2 grinds at The Cradle, the nine-hole short course at Pinehurst, have found the Low grind rewards clean, precise strikes on firm turf but offers little forgiveness on fat contact, while the Full grind has been described as forgiving for players who enter the turf steeply. The Adapt grind has been well received for shots played off the high toe on open-face flops, and the standard grind has been called a reliable baseline suited to a wide range of players.
