Lexi Thompson will play in the inaugural WTGL season this fall while pregnant, competing for Motor City Golf Club as the league opens Nov. 8 and runs through Dec. 23, just a few months ahead of her February due date.

Why is Thompson playing while pregnant?

Thompson announced in August that she and Provost are expecting their first child. At the league's media day at SoFi Center, she said she had already committed to WTGL before learning she was pregnant and that the news would not have changed her plans unless her due date fell during the season itself. Thompson described the decision as a chance to represent her team and help grow the women's game, saying she is prepared to play as few or as many matches as her pregnancy allows.

How might pregnancy affect her game?

Thompson, an 11-time LPGA winner, said she does not yet know how her swing will change as the pregnancy progresses and expects to adjust as November and December approach.

Thompson signed on for WTGL before she knew she was pregnant, and says the diagnosis alone would not have kept her out.
