Golf Saudi is ending the PIF Global Series on the Ladies European Tour after this season, according to a Golf Saudi release, shifting its backing to a single rebranded event for 2027.

What is changing for 2027?

The PIF Global Series delivered 29 events since launching in 2021. This year's version included five events worth a combined $15 million in prize money, which represented more than half of the LET's total purses outside its two majors. The 2026 stops were held in Saudi Arabia, Las Vegas and London, with events still to come in Seoul and Shenzhen, China. Past series winners include Nelly Korda, Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and Jeeno Thitikul.

In place of the series, Golf Saudi will focus its investment on one event: the PIF London Championship, which will be renamed The Championship for 2027. Rather than follow the AIG Women's British Open on the calendar, it will now precede it, played the week of July 19 at a course yet to be named. The move takes the spot on the schedule previously held by the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open, which is losing its LPGA sanction; LET officials and IMG are working to find the Scottish Open a new date.

What will The Championship look like?

The Championship will be co-sanctioned by the LPGA and LET and carry a $4 million purse, matching the Aramco Championship at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, which has also been dropped from the 2027 LPGA schedule. Golf Saudi separately announced a multi-year sponsorship of a season-long LET points race that will pay a season-ending bonus.

LET CEO Tom Phillips, who took the role in January, called Golf Saudi "an outstanding partner to the LET" in the release. Abeer AlJohani, vice president of the Saudi Golf Federation Office, said the goal is for "Saudi women and girls to see a future in golf."

Last August, 17-year-old Anna Huang won her fourth LET title at the PIF London Championship, holding off home favorite Charley Hull with an eagle on the final hole at the Centurion Club. The LET has not yet released its full 2027 schedule.
