Key takeaways

  • LIV Golf's deadline for players to commit to LIV Golf 2.0 was pushed from Oct. 13 to Oct. 25.
  • David Puig confirmed at the Open de España that he will not join LIV Golf 2.0.
  • Peter Uihlein, Laurie Canter and Tom McKibbin have all recently played DP World Tour events without their LIV team's branding.
  • Adrian Meronk, who secured his DP World Tour card through 2028, says he has not yet made a decision.

LIV Golf players now have until Oct. 25 to decide whether they will join the league's planned 2.0 format, after the original Oct. 13 deadline was pushed back. As the new date approaches, several players have appeared at recent DP World Tour events without their team's branding, while others have confirmed their plans outright.

Who has already confirmed a move?

David Puig played the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship without his Fireballs GC clothing, then confirmed the following week at the Open de España that he will not be part of LIV Golf 2.0. Peter Uihlein, a Range Goats GC player, wore a Titleist cap rather than his team's gear at an Asian Tour event. Jon Rahm and Thomas Pieters have already left the league for the DP World Tour, while Richard Bland and Cameron Tringale have said they intend to stay with LIV.

Who is still deciding?

At this week's DP World India Championship at Delhi Golf Club, Laurie Canter and Tom McKibbin both played without their team logos. Canter, who joined Majesticks GC in January, carried a Cypress Point bag and wore a Wentworth cap. McKibbin, a Legion XIII player since January 2025, wore a cap bearing the Friar's Head logo instead of his team's branding for the first time since signing.

Adrian Meronk has made no such change. The Cleeks GC player, who secured his DP World Tour card through 2028 with a win at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, said in India that he has not settled on a decision. "I haven't made an official decision yet," Meronk said. Thomas Detry and Anirban Lahiri are also still wearing their teams' clothing, for 4 Aces GC and Crushers GC respectively.

A player's wardrobe isn't a confirmed decision, but on tour this fortnight it has become the clearest clue available.
