Miyu Yamashita Eyes Back-to-Back Wins at FM Championship

Miyu Yamashita shot a 2-under 70 on Friday at TPC Boston to sit in a three-way tie for the lead at the FM Championship, a week after winning the CPKC Women's Open by nine shots.

Who is Yamashita tied with?

The Japanese golfer shares the lead with Hyo Joo Kim and Allisen Corpuz, who has not won on the LPGA Tour in 2026. Yamashita reached 10 under and held the solo lead before a bogey on the eighth hole dropped her into the tie. She started her round on the back nine, birdied Nos. 16 and 17, bogeyed the first, birdied the second and sixth, then bogeyed the eighth.

What would a win mean for her season?

A victory Sunday would give Yamashita back-to-back titles and make her the fourth LPGA player this year to win in consecutive starts, following Hyo Joo Kim (Fortinet and Ford in March), Nelly Korda (Chevron and Riviera Maya in April) and Haeran Ryu (KPMG Women's PGA and the Amundi Evian in June and July).

Morgane Metraux and Ruoning Yin are two shots back after matching 7-under 65s, and Suvichaya Vinijchaitham posted the day's low round, also a 65, to sit tied for ninth. Defending champion Lottie Woad is tied for 27th after a third-round 73. The tournament, in its third year at TPC Boston, carries a $4.4 million purse, one of the largest on the LPGA schedule.
