PGA Tour Superstore Cuts Impact Trainer Price to Under $20
By Staff Writer
PGA Tour Superstore has cut the price of the Impact Trainer, a swing-training bag, to just under $20, a 33 percent discount off its regular retail price.
What does the Impact Trainer do?
The Impact Trainer is a heavy-duty bag that golfers fill with soft material, such as towels or cloth, after purchase. Golfers then swing at a circle target on the bag's face to reinforce proper club, hand, body and arm position at the moment of impact. A stake loop lets the bag be secured for use outdoors, and it can also be used indoors or in a garage since no ball is involved.
How should golfers use it?
The bag is built for impact-position training rather than full-speed swings. Short-game swings or full swings at roughly 70 percent effort are recommended instead of swinging at maximum strength, since the goal is repetition at the target rather than distance.
Top 100 Teacher Krista Dunton has pointed to the bag's versatility. "It's multifunctional," she said, noting that it helps golfers feel the clubhead and hands arriving correctly at impact and weight shifting into the lead side, rather than the club bottoming out behind the ball or catching it thin.
