2026 Presidents Cup Day 1: TV Times and Four-Ball Format

Golf Channel's live coverage of the 2026 Presidents Cup begins Thursday, Sept. 24, from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET, with a simulcast available on GC Mobile as the first round of matches gets underway at Medinah Country Club outside Chicago.

What is the format for Thursday's matches?

The opening day of the 2026 Presidents Cup features five four-ball matches, in which all four golfers play their own ball and the lower score on each team counts for the hole. Each match pits two players from the U.S. team against two from the International team.

Not every golfer competes on Thursday. Each 12-man roster sends 10 players into action, leaving two on each side to sit out the opening session.

When will the Thursday pairings be announced?

U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker and International captain Geoff Ogilvy select their players and matchups separately, without knowledge of the other side's picks. The pairings for Thursday's five matches are set to be announced at 4:45 p.m. ET Wednesday, live on Golf Channel.
