Solheim Cup 2026 Attendance Expected to Reach 80,000 Fans

Roughly 80,000 fans from more than 40 countries are expected to attend the 2026 Solheim Cup at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands, the first time the match has been held in the country.
How does that compare to past Solheim Cups?
The figure is about 15,000 more than the confirmed 65,010 who attended the 2023 edition at Finca Cortesin in Spain, where Europe retained the trophy after a 14-14 tie. It falls short of the roughly 90,000 who attended Gleneagles in Scotland in 2019, and well behind the two most recent U.S.-hosted matches: an estimated 150,000 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia in 2024, and the confirmed record of more than 130,000 at Inverness Club in Ohio in 2021, which broke the previous mark of 124,426 set at Des Moines Golf and Country Club in 2017.

The event has grown considerably since its 1990 debut at Lake Nona in Florida, when fewer than 3,000 fans watched Kathy Whitworth's U.S. team beat Mickey Walker's Europeans, 11.5-4.5. The Solheim Cup is now broadcast in more than 155 territories, reaching an estimated 620 million homes.
