The World Golf Hall of Fame has released its list of 14 finalists for the Class of 2027, spanning four competitor categories plus historic players and contributors to the game.
Who are the finalists?
The men's ballot includes Jim Furyk, Corey Pavin, Justin Rose and Adam Scott. The women's ballot includes Cristie Kerr, Liselotte Neuman, Inbee Park and Dottie Pepper. Ted Ray, Jay Sigel and Alexa Stirling are finalists among historic players, while broadcaster Jim Nantz, architect Harry Colt and instructor Butch Harmon are up for induction as contributors. Furyk, Kerr, Pepper, Sigel and Harmon were also finalists for the Class of 2024.
How is the class selected?
The 14 finalists were narrowed from 162 public nominations by a committee of media, Hall of Fame members and industry figures. A 24-person selection committee now votes this fall, and a finalist needs 75% support to be elected. The Class of 2027 will be announced in December.
"The Finalists for the Class of 2027 represent an extraordinary range of accomplishments and contributions to the game of golf," said Mike Trostel, director of the World Golf Hall of Fame, in a release.
Induction is scheduled for July 12, 2027, in St. Andrews, Scotland, during Open Championship week, with the ceremony broadcast live on Golf Channel in the United States.
