NASCAR Driver to Run Annika-Branded Car at Championship Race

NASCAR driver Michael McDowell will run a special Annika Sorenstam-branded livery on his No. 71 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race on Nov. 8 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, days ahead of the LPGA's The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican Golf Club.

What does the car's design include?

The livery from McDowell's team, Spire Motorsports, and sponsor Gainbridge features an Annika 59 goat logo, the Pelican Golf Club pelican and the LPGA logo. The car's decklid will also list the LPGA players eligible for the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship, where the top 60 in the Race to the CME Globe compete for a $4 million winner's prize.

How is McDowell tying in with the LPGA?

McDowell will wear a caddie-inspired bib and golf pants on race day. The following week, he is scheduled to serve as a celebrity caddie in the LPGA's pro-am ahead of The Annika, a role Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham filled a year ago.

Sorenstam called the partnership a way of "elevating women's sports."

The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican Golf Club is the penultimate event on the LPGA's 2026 schedule, held the week after the NASCAR championship race.
