Ruoning Yin Ends Two-Year Winless Drought at FM Championship

Ruoning Yin ended a nearly two-year winless drought on Sunday, closing with a strong approach into the final green at TPC Boston to beat Hyo Joo Kim and win the FM Championship, her sixth LPGA title.

How long had Yin gone without a win?

The 23-year-old broke through early in her career, winning five titles in an 18-month span that included the KPMG Women's PGA Championship at Baltusrol. But after the 2024 Maybank Championship, the wins stopped. She kept contending in 2026, with two runner-up finishes and a tie for fourth at the CPKC Women's Open, without closing one out until Sunday in Norton, Massachusetts.

How did the final round play out?

Yin separated herself from Hyo Joo Kim with a strong approach shot into the 72nd hole, sealing the title as her mother watched from outside the ropes. She dropped to her knees in tears on the 18th green before finishing the formalities.

A two-year wait ended with one approach shot into the final green.

"It's just been so long since my last win," Yin said. "I think this one definitely boost my confidence a little bit more."

Yin entered the week with 50 career top-25 finishes on the LPGA, evidence that the results had stayed strong even as the wins dried up. She collected $660,000 for the victory.
